  • Effective Black Parenting Class (English)
    Every Saturday 1:00pm - 3:30pm
    ONLINE
    The curriculum was designed to support and empower parents of black children by deepening their understanding of parenting with a cultural sensitive lens. Earn a Gift card for every Effective Black Parenting class you attend! This is a 6-week class.

    First Friday of The Month 2:00pm - 2:30pm

    Safe Sleep classes provide parents with safe sleep education to prevent the risk of SIDS (a leading cause of death for infants).

    Third Thursday of Every Month 5:30pm-7:30pm
    ONLINE
    Join us to talk, connect, and feel refreshed with other local parents. This Café is offered every 3rd Thursday of the month. A $50 gift card will be raffled!

    Los padres aprenderán información esencial sobre cómo mantener seguros a sus bebés mientras duermen y reducir el riesgo de síndrome de muerte súbita del lactante (SMSL). Pueden asistir madres en su octavo mes de embarazo o padres con un niño menor de 1 año.

Safe Sleep Class

Safe Sleep classes provide parents with safe sleep education to prevent the risk of SIDS (a leading cause of death for infants). Upon completion of the class, parents will receive a free portable crib. Pregnant mothers need to be in their 3rd trimester or parents with a child under 1 year of age are eligible to attend.

Parent Cafés are a great way for the community to come together, talk, and feel re-energized as a parent in a safe, conversational environment. Cafés use questions based on the Strengthening Families Protective Factors™, a nationally recognized, research-based framework for keeping any aged children safe and keeping families strong.

Effective Black Parenting  Class

Effective Black Parenting (EBP) is an evidenced-based class designed to increase parenting skills through a culturally sensitive lens specifically for parents of African American children aged 0-18

123 Magic Discipline​ Class (TBD)

1,2,3 Magic Discipline is an evidenced-based program is designed to help parents use simple and effective disciplining practices for children aged 2-12.

Tuning In To Kids (TBD)

Tuning In To Kids is an evidenced-based class focuses on the emotional connection between parents and children aged 2-10 which aims to improve parent’s ability to recognize, understand, and manage their own and their child’s emotions. 

Tuning In To Teens (TBD)

Tuning In To Teens is an evidenced-based class focuses on the emotional connection between parents and children aged 10-18 which aims to improve parent’s ability to recognize, understand, and manage their own and their child’s emotions.

Workshops

(TBD)

Workshops are offered around a variety of topics designed to provide information, support parents by building self-efficacy, and engage clients in reflective discussions. Previous topics have included discipline, communication, self-care, managing stress, playing with young children, and more.

Free Books for Kids Delivered to Your Home!

 

Did you know your child can receive free books? Seriously free! Thanks to a partnership with the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and the DC Public Library, children under the age of 5 can receive one free book every month. 

 

The “Books from Birth” program allows children living in D.C. to receive one book every month from birth until they turn 5-years old.
